Shane Rigney
1978-2010
Shane Rigney that
coached, reffed and helped out with the league since day one
passed away early morning on Jan 14th.
Shane was on the
board for the NSFFL and was instrumental in the smooth running
of the league since it started. Shane never had any kids in the
program but coached every season since its inception. Shane, a
teacher in Peabody, Lynn and more recently Winthrop always put
the kids first in and out of school. He coached kids that never
won a game all season and he coached kids to several
championships, but you would never know which was which as the
kids always had fun playing.
This past fall
season he reffed in all 5 member towns so if you played or
coached you will probably remember him. Shane or Mr Rigney as
his kids know him coached the Championship team at Gillette this
past summer and drove the kids on the 10 hour trip to Baltimore
this past November to compete in the NFL qualifier. |
