Lynn League
Champions
The games in Lynn
were played at the superb Manning field stadium every Sunday;
the stadium which is rented out by the league provides stadium
seating for friends and family, concession stands and locker
rooms, along with the beautiful turf field where the 4 Lynn high
schools all play their fall football.
Due to the continual increase in participation in Lynn, the
league was able to have all 4 age categories available for the
players. In the 5-6 division the little players got to feel what
it was like playing in front of a crowd on a proper football
field. The Texans were the team that stood out during the season
with the Falcons, Lions and Bills playing hard every week. In
the play-offs the Falcons almost upset the Lions but the lions
came though to win in the end and the Texans also won their game
to reach the Superbowl. During the season the Lions and Texans
tied a game but this was the Superbowl and there would be no
tie. In the end it was the Texans who came out strong and while
the Lions made a great effort to stay in the game the Texans won
the Championship in front of their fans in the stands.
In the 7-8 division the Ravens, Panthers and Cardinals were all
evenly matched. Every game during the season was close and many
came down to the last play and the games could have gone either
way. In the play-offs the Panthers faced the higher seed
Cardinals but managed to overcome the odds and put in a winning
performance. The Ravens defeated the Chiefs and the Superbowl
was set, in the Championship game some of the players were a
little nervous as the game was being announced on the stadium
speakers and the score was displayed for everyone to see on the
main electronic scoreboard. Both teams went back and forth and
at the end of regulation the game was tied and went in to over
time. Each team got one drive but it was the Panthers that
gained the most yards and therefore won the championship in the
7-8 division.
The 9-11 division was the closest division ever with every team
being very evenly matched. The Jaguars started the season
strongly but then lost the last two games of the season; the
Packers lost their first 2 games but won the last three games of
the season, while the Broncos and Bears went about their
business, with the Broncos winning three games and the bears
winning two games. Points for and points against were almost
identical for every team and it appeared that any team could go
on to win the Championship. In the semi-final the Jaguars found
their winning way again as they defeated the Packers and the
Browns almost pulled off the upset but the Broncos held on to
win the game. In the Superbowl both teams played the game as if
it was their last as the action was fast and furious, it seemed
like whichever team had the ball last was going to win, but it
was a costly penalty that hurt the Jaguars chances on their
final drive to hand the victory to the Broncos.
The 12-14 division had 4 teams with the Cardinals and Falcons
only losing one game all season to each other. The Chiefs failed
to win a game but put up over 80 points in their final two
games, which gave a couple of teams a scare. The Bills that won
2 games during the regular season were beating the Falcons up
until 1 min left and then on the last play of the game the ball
was intercepted and run back for a TD which gave the Falcons the
Victory. In their most recent game the Falcons defeated the
Cardinals with points to spare but the Superbowl is a different
story and with a few coaching changes the Cardinals managed to
hold the Falcons offense down and come away with the victory
giving them the 12-14 division championship.

play.
