Revere League
Champions
Revere played their
first ever season of flag football this past spring on the great
turf fields behind the high school, Revere was a last minute
addition to the league and turned out to be a great one. Even
though it was a first time league the coaches and kids both
picked up the rules and idea of NFL Flag very quickly and had a
great time playing week in week out, win or lose.
The league began with 8 teams which is a perfect amount to start
off with, it allowed all the players and coaches to be involved
as much as possible and get the most out of the program without
being too competitive. In the 5-8 division the season had a
shaky start due prior commitments by the players and parents,
however the kids still played and week after week the teams
became more established and stable. By the end of the season the
Chiefs were undefeated and faced the Jaguars in the Championship
game, the Chiefs kept up their winning ways and won the first
ever NFL flag football Championship in Revere.
In the older 9-12 division 4 solid teams came to play every
week, many of the kids that signed up had never played flag
before so it took a few weeks to get used to the rules. As the
season progressed so did the teams which made for some exciting
games. During the season it was the Lions that went undefeated
only being challenged by the Texans. The play-offs were a roller
coaster ride as both the underdog Ravens and Packers nearly
caused huge upsets but both teams lost by one TD right at the
end of the games. In the Superbowl the Texans got out to an
early lead which put the Lions under pressure as they had not
trailed in a game the entire season. The Lions could not find
their way back and the Texans who only won one game during the
regular season won the Championship.
Re-live the season through the photos and movies that are posted
from each week of play.
