Granite Bowl Flag Football Tournament

The Salem Witches that play in the Lynn 12-14 league (due to not enough 12-14 division players in Salem) are currently in second place with only one loss on the season. The team consists of Patrick Carlton, Jordan Harpole, Edgar Poirer, Austin Connolly, Shakir White, Tim Reynolds, Cole Jermyn, John Gillooly and Jonathan Crimble.

This is the first flag football tournament that the team has entered and while they didnt win any games on the day, they proved that they could play with any team as can be seen by the scores.
In their first game they played the Peabody Patriots and narrowly lost out 14-12, in the second game Salem played Lynn and lost out again by only one score 20-14, in the final round robin game Salem were defeated by the Red Storm 22-13. After loosing the first 3 round robin games Salem were ranked #4th which meant they had to play Peabody again to reach the final.

The witches played their best football of the day as they were beating Peabody 14-0 with only a few minutes remaining in the game, however 2 long bombs from Peabody tied up the score 14-14 and sent the game into sudden death over time. Salem went first from the 5yrd line but could not punch it in and Peabody scored on their first try knocking Salem out of the tournament.

Salem MVP was a hard decision but went to Jonathan Crimble, the Salem team played well and on another day could have won their games, they now look forward to finishing up the league and representing Salem at the Football Festival tournament on June 19th/20th.
